Model "A"
The Model "A" amplifier is a 30 Watt gem producing a sweet vintage tone.
The amplifier uses a less than traditional 5879 preamp with a 6680 phase inverter before entering a pair of matched 6V6 output tubes. The chassis and transformer are rebuilt from a late 50's - early 60's audio amplifer. The circuit is of course completely redesigned to accomadate the needs of a guitar. All of the components have been point to point hand wired. The combination of new and new old stock components makes this amp a real winner.
The exterior of the amp is reworked from a 1930's radio cabinet. The cabinet is less than perfect but all of awesome. There was a cigarette burn left in the top of the cabinet for character. A custom etched glass window allows for viewng the glowing tubes. External speaker outputs are on the front and rear of the amp for conveniance. There is a switch to go between the internal Jensen Vintage Ceramic C8R or your external cabinet.
